CHANGE IS GOOD?

Things change. We change. Change is inevitable. It happens all around us, every day, every minute.
We adjust to changing circumstances and change ourselves in the process. We make it work out, somehow.
Now, is it good? Or - can we make it a good experience for ourselves? Do we more often let ourselves be 'forced into it' by outside influences or, perhaps, isn't it possible to stay in charge ourselves?
Take a smoker for instance. All of us who ever smoked, knew it was bad for our health all along, but we did it anyway. Not too long ago it was socially acceptable to smoke anywhere at any time. Now smoking in their own house is a no-no for most people. You just simply have to go outside, or you're a horrible person. If you don't care for yourself, at least care for others! People feel entitled to give you looks ranging from contempt to pity to disgust. So you know, eventually you'll have to stop...
And the little rebel inside yourself says: but I like it! You can't make me...Even if I wanted to, I can't stop. I've tried, but I can't and I won't... You rationalize, find excuses until you are convinced that you would be giving up control over that habit.
In truth though you know you are out of control because you don't know how to take it. You say "I'm addicted", which means the same as "I'm not responsible". And there it is: The rebel wants to be strong but is hiding behind weakness. Pretty uncomfortable, isn't it?
Every habit, even a 'bad' one, does something for the person who cultivates it. Habits bring comfort and structure to our lives. They are automatic and useful to get things done. You don't have to think about them, you just act on them automatically, subconsciously. You try to change them with will power and often fail. You even concentrate so much on defeating them that they become bigger and more powerful. That is because the subconscious mind knows no negative. Thinking of not smoking that cigarette is the same to the subconscious as thinking of smoking. The mental picture is the same and it corresponds to possibly many year's worth of similar ones.
The good news is, there is a way to plant a new picture in the subconscious mind and send the old ones further back, where they are less accessable.  It's Hypnosis, and it doesn't hurt!  There is nothing mystical about it. It is simply a naturally occurring or hypnotist- induced state of altered awareness, where your whole mind is involved, conscious and subconscious.
Hypnosis can be defined as: 1. The bypass of limiting beliefs
2. The establishment of acceptable selective thinking.( That means,
acceptable to the person who is being hypnotized.)
In hypnosis, we gain access. In hypnosis, we can stop the little rebel inside from sabotaging our good intentions. We can reprogram ourselves and start new, more resourceful habits that enhance our lives.
And it all happens in a relaxed atmosphere, naturally, without drugs, without force, through heightened focus on what we want to achieve, not on what we don't want.
In my own personal experience, it is the easiest, most effective and most enjoyable way to overcome those impossible looking challenges
of personal change.
